Ahmet Yeşil (b. 1954) is one of the leading figures in Turkish painting. Born in Mersin, Turkey, he studied art under prominent artists Nuri Abaç, İlhan Çevik, and Ernür Tüzün between 1973 and 1985. In 2015, he graduated from Anadolu University with a degree in Sociology.

In the early stages of his career, Yeşil focused on figurative painting, exploring themes of women and children during his “Figurative Period” (1980–1989). From the 1990s onward, inspired by his passion for the sea and his mother’s profession as a seamstress, he began focusing on rope and cord motifs, using them to express social, personal, and collective themes. These recurring motifs can be interpreted as reflections of the subconscious and a longing for the past.

To date, Yeşil has held 141 solo exhibitions, participated in 315 group exhibitions, and received 24 awards in national and international competitions. His works are included in prominent collections in Turkey and abroad, including Germany, the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

Yeşil continues to work in his studio in Mersin, Turkey. Alongside numerous major exhibitions in Turkey, he has participated in significant international exhibitions. In 2011, he received the Silver Medal at the Carrousel du Louvre exhibition in Paris. His artistic practice holds an important place in the development of modern Turkish painting.

His works primarily employ oil and mixed media on canvas. Further information about his works and pricing is available upon request.
