“The function of the body is not to store up recollections, but simply to choose, in order to bring back to distinct consciousness, by the real efficacy thus conferred on it.”
Henri Bergson
What is the function of this cocoon that cannot seem to open despite its extending limbs from the body?
“This may leave a stain”; contrary to the traditional view that the body is a static, unchanging physical entity, it explores the approach that the body has the ability to transform and change in response to all personal and environmental events. The biggest unification point of the works in this exhibition is that human life and the conditions we live in are inherently uncertain and open to various forms of fragility, and that our lives continue in harmony with the potential for instability, unpredictability, harm and distress.
