Based in Adana, Turkey and London, England, Mustafa Boğa graduated from Harran University, Vocational College of Higher Education, Radio&TV Broadcasting Programme and from Istanbul University Faculty of Communication. Having received his master’s degrees from Greenwich University in Cinematography and Post Production as well as from Central Saint Martins in Fine Art, the artist has an interdisciplinary practice.
Mustafa Boğa examines in his interdisciplinary work reaching from photography, and video to performance art and installation, the sexual, political, national and social identities’ power in transforming the individual along with the contradictions and compression that arise as a result of this coercive power, based on the limitations imposed on the individual. The artist who marries his daily life with contemporary art becomes both the observer and the narrator with images from his personal experiences and childhood. He reflects on how the power of different media channels influences the political environment in the field of art while managing the perception of the audience.
